Harry Harrison Well Melbourne; what’s going on? How can one town have so many good bands? And the first outing from King Stag is no exception. From the stampeding ‘You Keep Me Coming Back’ to the thumping ‘Count of G’, I can hear indie genre influences from the 70ies through to the new millennium. It may not be the Stoner Rock fare that I normally feast on, but it’s definitely a table I’d eat at again. Would love to see these guys live and am looking forward to future releases. Go the might Stag! Favorite track: Mountain Queen.

I've got a rule That's what keeps me cool If I'm honest here, I want to see ya Laid out nice and sweet, upon my bed sheets Chorus: There's something about ya I just can't get over There's something about ya It keeps me coming back I'd bring flowers to your door if it got me more But you're hard to please and girl you're such a tease Just like a golden snitch you know how to evade And make all the other girls evacuate Chorus: There's something about ya I just can't get over There's something about ya It keeps me coming back

Count of G 03:42
The Count of G The darkest of all mystery Sleek and black We know it all but the knowledge we lack Chorus: Doesn't even make a sound Wears robes with a thorny crown No need to cover your ground Because the Count of G is all around Chorus: Doesn't even make a sound Wears robes with a thorny crown No need to cover your ground Because the Count of G is all around Tucked away from prying eyes Consumed by a web of lies Rumours built to sever the joint Like a tumour at its breaking point Chorus: Doesn't even make a sound Wears robes with a thorny crown No need to cover your ground Because the Count of G is all around A sound distant at first But clear like a dying thirst The footsteps of a man Who can only be cursed Chorus: Doesn't even make a sound Wears robes with a thorny crown No need to cover your ground Because the Count of G is all around

Strong on the outside but weak down below Afraid to lose it where all feelings go You gotta keep, keep holding on You gotta keep it, don't let it stop Pulling me in but letting me go Don't know if you mean it don't know if you know You gotta keep, keep holding on You gotta keep it, don't let it stop If you could reach me, then maybe I'd stay Cause these thick walls, They're made out of hay You gotta keep, keep holding on You gotta keep it, don't let it stop Breaking the walls and I'm singing, what am I to do, it was you

I didn't want it to end But I had no other choice Watching you hurt me I needed to raise my voice But the black clouds rolled in And the winds began to howl They say the fire it burns It burns through everything in sight They say the regrowth Sets everything right But it it's getting harder To see everything in a new light It's getting hot in here and it's not cause you're in the room The balance it slowly fades and the room begins to skew It's getting harder To keep holding on Don't lock the door cause you're free to leave anytime But I bet you won't because the atmospheres really fine It's getting harder To keep holding on It's getting harder, harder everyday It's getting harder, harder I can't pray
